Paper Christmas Wreath

An easy little decoration for Christmas

Approx. finished size 10cm x 10cm (4" x 4")

What will you need?

  • Coloured paper - two or more colours
  • Green lurex thread or ribbon for a hanging loop
  • Gold holly leaf peel off stickers XL443
  • Red glitter glue or seed beads
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors or craft knife, ruler and pencil

  • Cut 8 rectangles out of the paper (4 of each colour), measuring 5cm x 10cm (2" x 4")

The size isn't really important, as the instructions are the same for any size rectangle. Whatever the longest dimension of the rectangle the shorter one needs to be half that.

The end product will measure roughly the longest dimension of the rectangle you start with.

  • Fold each rectangle in half lengthways

  • With the fold towards you, fold the two top corners down to meet the bottom of the paper
  • Now fold the whole thing in half, end to end so the points meet
  • Repeat this for all 8 rectangles

  • If you look at the edge of each piece you will see it has two slots, this is where you are going to add the next piece of paper
  • Take one piece and hold it with the slanted side pointing down
  • Take the next piece, hold it in the same way, and slide each point into the slots on the first piece

  • Push it in as far as it will go, it needs to be at an angle, but if you don't get it first time you will be able to adjust it as you add the others
  • Continue to slot each piece in place, alternating the colours, until you have used all 8 pieces

You can leave it like this and just add a thread for hanging or..........................

  • Take the peel offs and stick two holly leaves onto green card
  • Cut them out

  • Put a blob of glue onto the back centre of the leaves and stick them onto the paper wreath, if you only glue the centre the leaves will stand out a little
  • Add red glitter glue or tiny seed beads to the peel off where the berries should be, leave to dry
  • Now thread a piece of lurex thread onto a needle and carefully push it through one of the points on the wreath
  • Knot the two ends together to form a loop
  • You're now finished

This variation was made in the same way

but also using two smaller wreaths done with pieces of paper

measuring 2.5cm x 5cm (1" x 2"). Each smaller wreath has

been glued one on each side of the larger one.
