Paper Christmas Bauble

An easy little decoration for Christmas

Approx. finished size 6cm x 6cm (2 1/2" x 2 1/2")

What will you need?

  • Coloured paper - 120gsm or thicker
  • Gold lurex thread or ribbon for a hanging loop
  • Scissor
  • A compass or something round to draw around

  • Cut 10 circles out of the paper, measuring approx. 6cm (2 1/2") diameter

The size isn't really important, as the instructions are the same for any size circle. You just need to make sure all the circles are the same size.

  • Fold each circle in half

  • Put glue onto one half of a circle and stick it to another circle, matching up the edges
  • Continue adding glue to each piece and sticking it to the next until you have used all the circles
  • Leave the last two sides unstuck
  • Leave to dry

  • Take a piece of thread or ribbon about 25cm (10") long
  • Fold it in half and knot the ends together
  • Add a bit of glue down the centre of the bauble and lay the thread along it
  • Then glue the bauble together

You're now finished

You can experiment with different shapes and colours, stars look particularly effective.

This one was made using a hexagonal patchwork template

and 12 pieces.
