Button Christmas Tree Card


A beautiful Christmas card project




What will you need?

  • XL649 gold rope border peel off stickers
  • XL458 gold Happy Christmas peel off stickers
  • ​XL500 gold border peel off stickers
  • ​CPA016 Vintage Christmas paper pack
  • ​Crimson card
  • B6210-12 Assorted red buttons. About 20 buttons, 18mm & smaller
  • ​Assorted gems or pearls
  • ​Double-sided foam pads, glue, double-sided tape, ruler, craft knife & scissors, etc
  • ​PK249 cream 104mm x 152mm card blank
  • ​A scrap of brown card

  • Cut out a 8cm x 12cm rectangle of striped paper
  • ​And a 8.5cm x 12.5cm piece of crimson card

  • ​Stick the crimson card towards the top of the card blank​, leaving an even border around the top and sides
  • ​Stick the striped paper on top of the crimson card

  • Stick a thin gold border peel off (XL500) around the edges of the crimson card


  • Cut out a pot shape from the brown card, approx. 3cm at the top and 2cm at the base and 2cm deep, slant the sides and add a small piece of rope border peel off (XL649) across the top
  • ​alternatively, you can cut a small rectangle to resemble a trunk, approx. 1.5cm x 2.5cm

  • Attach foam pads to the back of the pot
  • ​Stick it to the card blank approx. 1.5cm from the bottom edge and in the centre

  • Now arrange the buttons in a tree shape with the larger ones at the bottom. Leave space at the top for a star

  • Once happy with the arrangement, pick up each button, add a blob of glue and replace it
  • ​When the buttons are all stuck in place you can add tiny gems, pearls or glitter (or a mixture) to fill in the gaps

  • Attach a gold peel off star to the top of the tree from the Happy Christmas sheet XL458


  • ​Cut a 2cm x 4cm piece of crimson card
  • ​Attach a gold Happy Christmas peel off (XL458)


  • Attach foam pads to the back
  • ​And stick it in the top left-hand corner of the card blank
  • Add extra gold peel off stars and dots to the corners if desired

Your card is now finished.
